Yesterday, 4-12-2022, the MO Secretary of State published the Emergency Rules for the Missouri Empowerment Scholarship Accounts Program in the MO Registry. Click here to link to the 3 pages [Page 1, second column, (4)] which contain the new rules.
FHE is very disappointed to learn the Treasurer’s office has not satisfactorily addressed our concerns.
As a result, Representative Josh Hurlbert offered an amendment to his bill, HB 2211, to remove a home school from the Missouri Empowerment Scholarship. HB 2211 passed the House Elementary and Secondary Education Committee, Tuesday April 12, with the amendment included as HCS for HB 2211. The bill has now been referred to the House Rules Committee-Legislative Oversight.
FHE has had several concerns about the scholarship program from the beginning; therefore, FHE will be supporting HCS for HB 2211.
We will be sending out more information on Monday, April 18, 2022.
