Families for Home Education, the oldest and largest statewide home school organization in Missouri, has been serving Missouri home educators since 1983. FHE is comprised of members – you, not just a board and staff. The purpose of FHE is to protect the inalienable right of the parents of Missouri to teach their own children without further state regulation and control.

Heads UP: If you plan to start homeschooling (new to homeschooling) this fall and have not sent in your withdrawal letter to the public school, your withdrawal letter needs to be at the school before the first day. If that means you have to hand deliver instead of mailing it (the usual recommendation), then that is fine. 5-13-2023 SB 411 & 230 Final Update The 2023 Legislative Session came to a close on Friday, May 12, 6:00pm. All bills still on House and Senate calendars and in the House and Senate committees have “died”. Those bills will not be considered. SB 411 and 230 has “died” in the House Fiscal Review Committee.
